Banner Contest Updates

31 12 2007

Ok, I have been getting some questions about the banner contest, so I will try to answer them in order.

1) Nick, you put the due date as January 4th…but 2 weeks from December 28th is January 11th, whats the deal?

Well the answer is quite simple, I screwed up. It was late when I posted this and clearly my proof reading was horrible, so the due date is January 11th, not the 4th. Sorry about that

2) How many banners can I enter?

I was figuring people would only submit one, but people are really taking initiative so I am going to have to put a limit in order to control flooding of entries from the same people. The limit I have set is 2, you can only enter in 2 banners, so make sure they are your best work. The ones I have seen so far are quite good, so put your best foot forward. Also, don’t try to send them from different E-mail addresses Canadian Roll checks I.P’s on all entries.

3) What are the banner Specs?

The only specs you have to follow is that the banner is 780 x 200 pixels large and it has to say Canadian Roll on it. Other then that get as creative as you want, but remember keep it related to Canadian Rolling, so what ever you think best represents Canada’s rolling scene include that.

4) How will you know what skates I want?

In the E-Mail you send me, with the banner, specify the skates you want and the size you want them in

Other then that have fun, all the guys over here at Canadian Roll (Roger Wilkinson, Brian Lofgren, and me, Nick D’Amico) really look forward to seeing what you guys make. Lastly, a big thank you goes out to Leon Basin and Shop-Task for making this all possible. The bottom line is he is there supporting basically every event, and many contest like this one, and really helps Canadian skating grow, and that includes this website. So try to support the supporters.

Cameron Card Has Been Skating…

31 12 2007

All those Be-Mag rumors everyone has been hearing about Cameron Card skating El Toro are completely true! Which is great to hear. In Cameron’s own words he stated that he couldn’t help himself from skating El Toro, but he is aware it probably was not the smartest thing to do. If you want to read the full write up that goes a long with the picture above just visit the Sixwonsix production blog HERE. Personally, I think it is great to see Cameron back on a pair of skates, lacing things that I still can not do. If you ever read this post Cam, it is great to see you skating.

One of the Best Stalls I Have Seen

31 12 2007

The picture above is of Franco Cammayo skating a park in Long Island, New York. What makes this picture so special is that he is performing a negative makio stall, which I believe looks incredible and seems like it would be very difficult to perform. I originally got this picture from the Valo website, so if you would like to see all the pictures in this photo set go HERE.

Jon Craig Skating Winterclash!

The initial batch of Winter Clash rider for the Winterclash competition have just been announced, and pretty much all the well known pros are attending (Broskow, Bailey, Aragon, Haffey, Chaz Sands, Brian Shima). However, while going through the list of riders I saw Ontario’s own Jon Craig will also be competing in the pro division. So I wish him all the best of luck in Germany, I am sure he will make Canada proud! If you want to see the list of the riders who are competing go HERE.

Ramelle Knight Testing the New Deshi CH1

31 12 2007

Ramelle Knight may not be one of the top five rollers in the world (as he previously stated), but he is definitely a great skater that represents his sponsors to the fullest, and for that alone you have to respect the man. This time around he is showing people how he skates his brand new Deshi CH1 skates, and throws together a little ledge edit for people to enjoy, so enjoy! This edit was originally posted on the Conference website.
