The Faces of Rollerblading

One of the biggest parts of rollerblading for almost anyone who really loves it, is getting clips, and pics. Ever since i was a young little tyke roller at the tender age of 15, it was all about the clips. Sure skating was always fun and exciting, but when you landed that one trick you’d been trying forever on camera, it was always extra awesome. You could now “prove” to your friends and relatives how sick of a skater you were truly becoming. Sometimes however the best pics, with the perfect angle, and the perfect lighting, taken at the perfect second in time to make the trick look SUPER AWESOME!!!!!, can be ruined by…….YOUR FACE!!

New Kids on the Block Contest Pushed Back

As usually occurs in life, things got complicated and we have been forced to push back the date of the contest to later in August. I really don’t like that this had to happen, and to anyone who had their hopes up, I apologize. I know this looks rather unprofessional. However, the contest will go on and we will fulfill our end of the deal. Right now it is looking like the last two weeks in August will be the final date and a winner will be announced before that.

Isaac Golle Telling It How It Is

I know Isaac through Roger Wilkinson and through going up to Muskoka Woods to roll. I always thought he was a creative guy (particularly behind a video camera) with a lot of good ideas and a shit ton of energy to carry out these ideas. I like that about him. Anyway, I recently got bored and decided to go through his youtube videos, and there is one in particular that stood out. The video posted above pretty much states how Isaac feels when skateboarders confront him about rollerblading. I have to say, he handles the situation flawlessly!

Sean Knight and D.P are Badass

Sean Knight and D.P are some of the most badass people I have the pleasure of knowing. It is only logical that their badassness translates into their rollerblading, which is evident with each edit they put out. It has almost been a year of awesome fucking clips, great editing, and tricks that most people just will not touch. So I think it’s time for a little retrospective by looking at the latest Sean Knight and D.P edit alongside with one of their older edits. I think we can all agree the skating has gone from amazing to fucking amazing. These guys just seem to go bigger and bigger, all for our entertainment! Each new edit just brings more new and crazy shit, and you have to respect rollerbladers that are willing to push their boundaries as much as these two do.

RollTogether #11 Hype!

Oli (Oliver Nermerich) just keeps hitting me up with e-mails packed with great news for the RollTogether sessions and I am not going to lie, I really wish I could attend one of these sessions, they look really fun. It seems a few other Canadian’s have felt the same way, as Canadian’s have been known to attend these great get-togethers. The latest to add to that list is Hans Hirsbrunner, who is currently in Switzerland and will be attending RollTogether’s 11th session. Oli also provided me with a little promo edit for the event (which was put together by Grindhouse team rider Michael Mühlemann).

On a personal note, I just want to say I have a lot of respect for Oli and the guys over at RollTogether, their sessions are getting really popular and I think that is indicative of the work and time they are putting into them. I admire their passion and dedication.
