Hamilton Weekend Session AKA Canadian Roll #130

If people haven’t figured it out yet, or you just haven’t met me, I am a Hamilton, Ontario roller. Hamilton has seen its scene dying off since about 2000 shrinking from 30 people down to 4. Me and my friend Roger Wilkinson with the help of Brian Lofgren have been throwing around ideas on how to promote Hamilton rolling, or just rolling in general and we have come up with a plan.

Hamilton is hosting a weekend long session on June 15th through 17th.

We are letting people sleep at our places, meaning all you have to provide is money for food, drinks and anything else you think you need. We are hitting many spots to appeal to every skater from beginner to expert, all we want is for people to show their face and have a good time. We will be hopefully making an edit of the event and pictures will be taken daily and posted here on Canadian Roll or any other major rolling website. Don’t be shy if you have never met anyone from Hamilton who rolls, we just want to see as many skaters here as possible and will not treat anyone like an outsider.

If your interested in comming out for a day or staying the full 3 there are a few ways to contact us.

Dipskate on Hiphop-game TV

20061027_dip07_1161991098-111195011.jpg

Hate them or love them Dipskate are turning heads outside the skating world with interviews on various forms of hip hop media, what they do with all this attention is what is going to count. With this latest video interview on Hiphop-Game TV it seems that they are representing skating rather well, by mentioning skate videos, |B| Unique clothing, explaining freestyle rolling, and not making outrageous claims (such as being one of the top 5 skaters in the world). It seems that kids want to identify with something and if the Dipskate movement is something that appeals to them and draws in new skaters then I believe that benefits the rolling world more then hurts it. you can either check out the video HERE or go by The Conference website and see it HERE.

Bladr Thursday Night Edit

AJ DeLong of Bladr has created another Thursday night edit this time featuring the Milton, Ontario skatepark. AJ always films and creates quality edit, so as always I suggest everyone who hasn’t checked out the edit yet to do so. Stop by the Bladr website and check out the post under the May 29th heading.
