Canadian Roll News # 66

Us Hamilton rollers went down to Mississauga’s Ice Land on Decemeber 30th and met up with Malick and Marcos to hold a long session. Most of the pictures are posted on the Grimy Town (Hamilton) website so go there and check them out. Heres a little sample. Alchemy Frames

logo.jpg

If anyone remembers the feedback Alchemy frames got when people first saw images of them, they will remember either thinking or saying that the new frame looks like a xsjado frame that it basically stole xsjado’s ad campaign right down to the abnormal spelling of the company. I personally thought these things and did not think we would see these frames hit production (Epoch style) but I was wrong, and from the feedback that I’ve been hearing these frames skate very well.

They recently went on pre-order at skatepile, and are toting themselves as the strongest and lightest freestyle frames available. A New company providing hardware should always be welcome into our industry, but only time will tell if Alchemy can withstand the test of time that has been the downfall to many rolling brands.

You can find the pre-orders here

Canadian Roll News # 65

So recently news has been a little slow, with the holiday season this is to be expected. I decided to start another blog type website called Hamilton Roll (I’m original), also known as grimy town. The website is basically a medium to post up pictures of everything that goes on in Hamilton Ontario’s rolling community, as well as an excuse for me to use my new camera.

img_04312.jpg

The first gallery is pictures of a December 28th session that went on. Eventually edits will be added. You will notice Hamilton rolling is comprised of mainly 3 people Me (Nick D’Amico), Roger and Brian. You can spot me with my lack of talent and crazy antics, Roger with his skill and love for rolling and Brian just being the godfather of Hamilton skating. Hopefully I will be able to show people new spots, some good rolling and hopefully promote Hamilton for all its worth (approximately 5 dollars and a half eaten sandwich).

So check us out http://hamiltonroll.wordpress.com/

Rolling Photography

header_short.jpg

I recently got into film and have been searching the internet for picture tips and trying to find rolling photos to get an idea of how I want my own photography to look like. While searching I came across a new website called Rolling Photography. The website looks amazing, as soon as your signed up you get your own gallery and can upload 4 pictures at a time with no limit to the number of pictures you can upload. I think the website is definitely worth the time to look at. Much respect goes out to Tucker Photography from Rollernews for starting up the website.

Mike Lilly Edit On Vicious

bear.jpg

A Mike Lilly edit just surfaced on the vicious website. He also was just announced as a new team rider, a great addition for the Vicious team. The edit is awesome and Vicious seems to be coming strong with great edits, first Stockwell now Lilly. The edit can be found HERE and can be downloaded if you have quictime pro. I hope Canadian shops start selling these bearings because some good quality Abec 7s at a fair price is a good deal in my humble opinion.

If you stop by the One magazine website there is an Arlo Eisenberg preview for the interview that is in issue #2 done by Matt Mickey (Owner/co-founder of intuition skate shop). So go to the One website, which is updated frequently, to see previews and photos. More importantly pick up the magazine if you can, or even better get a subscription.

Aragon Skate Update

brian_aragon_20061223_1.jpg

Brian Aragon recently stated in an interview done between himself and Kloob, of the rollernews messageboards, that his next skate will indeed be a classic Razor Genesis boot mold because there has been problems with the manufacturer of the new mold. The interview states,

KB: and…the question everyones been wanting to know the answer to. What’s going on with your pro skate now? and when will it be released?
can you give us any details on it?

BA:We’ve had some problems with the manufacturer and the skate still had some problems and thats why it couldn’t be released for christmas. We are waiting on that skate for a couple months while everything is perfected. In the meantime my first pro skate will be the razors mold that everyone is familiar with and have my pro jug liner, a new GC frame, and a good color scheme.

Canadian Roll News # 64

Hey people I’m back, worn out, tired and in need of some mental rest. But before I go to sleep I decided to post some news, because I’m considerate like that. Hope everyone is enjoying their holidays/ holiday breaks. The weather is good where I am (Hamilton, Ontario AKA Grimy Town) I hope it is the same all around Canada so everyone can roll into the holidays.

Edit News

Ok if your either A) some one who is offended by drugs, OR B) a kid who is reading this and doesn’t think they are appropriate, please stop reading and don’t click any links. I take no responsibility for your actions and do not endorse or promote the use of drugs on this website…now thats all out of the way. On the VM-Magazine messageboard there has been a practice rail battle going on. It all started when Sean Knight posted a basement practice rail edit on the message board. Soon people responded with practice rail edits of their own which can be seen HERE, HERE and even HERE. Enjoy the edits.

**Edit: Mobb crew has recently put up a basement practice rail session as well. Check out the guys of Mobb HERE.**

Sterling Raven recently got a sponsorship from MYCK wheels, a edit was up of his park skating the other day, but they are redoing the site it would seem and the edit was lost. If the edit goes back up I’ll be sure to link you to it. Respect goes out to Sterling for the great park skating and good job with the wheel hook up, the wheels look really good.
